Ferdinand David was considered one of the most famous violinists of the Romantic period. A friend and colleague to both Mendelssohn and Schubert, his music editions give us a glimpse into performance practice of the time, and enlighten us as to period fingerings, bowings and phrasings and musical style in general.
By using period instruments, and by highlighting these traditions, this eminent duo promises to convey the affect of this music in its purest form.
