The eminent tenor, Andrew King, one of the leading exponents in the world of early music today, will be joining forces with our resident fortepianist, Sharona Joshua, for a Liederabend – a charming programme of evening song. This will include Beethoven’s An die Ferne Geliebte – the first song cycle ever written, several of Haydn’s enchanting English Canzonettas and some of Schubert’s best-loved Lieder. Interspersed with various celebrated solo fortepiano pieces of the era this event, with its dulcet tones, promises to elevate the spirits.
