Sunday 30 August 2015, 7.30pm.
This concert features the music of George Gershwin (1898-1937) who was and remains one of the most imaginative American composers of the early 20th century. He fused elements of jazz, ragtime and blues with European symphonic traditions and created a musical language that was fresh, spontaneous and, above all, American.
